Anklyos are probably the best all around decent gatherers simply because of their ability to get pretty much anything. Mammoths are, in my opinion, the best berry gatherers because of their speed and stong carrying capacity. Plus, wood for days. For hide you get it from killing dinos so your best option regardless of what dododex or any other guide says, is whatever dino you have that can deal the most damage.
